Care Net is governed by a local board of directors, with an executive director who manages a well-trained paid and volunteer staff. Established in 1993, Care Net of Paradise has had the honor of serving over four thousand residents of Paradise, Magalia, and beyond.
For the past nine years we have had the opportunity to teach abstinence to over five thousand Butte County middle school and high school students. We also have a team of high school and college students who visit schools and present funny and evocative sketches about sex and relationships. They also offer a candid question and answer panel for 7th – 12th grade classrooms. They call themselves: LIGHTS, CAMERA, NO ACTION!
The objective of this program is to encourage healthy and responsible parenting. This is accomplished by offering baby clothing, diapers, equipment, and furniture as a direct reward for attending and participating in various parenting classes.
With EWYL, clients come to you to learn how to be good parents. In the process, they form healthy bonds with their parenting instructors. In the end, they are able to walk out of your center with much needed items for their babies and a pride in their sense of accomplishment. The lessons they learn are crucial to the emotional and physical well being of their babies and break cycles of poor parenting, neglect and abuse.”
